Follow these three steps to help protect your account.   Add your safety information Trusted Sender is your friend Look for safety bars     Add your alternate email address and mobile phone number so we can send you password reset information if you ever lose access to your account. Look for the Trusted Sender icon before you open your emails to identify if it's safe. Hotmail detects emails that are unsafe and notifies you with red safety bars.
